The Best Brain Foods for Creative Coloring
What do you like to munch on when coloring in your adult coloring books? What are the best snacks to boost your creativity and enhance your artistic skill? Here’s a collection of snacks and foods that may help during your next creative coloring journey, plus some food-inspired color palettes to get you started on your next coloring page!
Chocolate
Have a sweet tooth? Dark chocolate not only has caffeine to give you an extra boost, but it may also help circulate more blood to your brain. Your creativity will soar with the extra blood! Nibble on a bit of chocolate while working on your detailed adult coloring book, and use the added focus to color those tiny spaces within the illustrations.
Fruit
Not only is fruit good for you (and tastes good), it can also be good for your mind. Fruit has plenty of vitamins to keep you going. It’s also a colorful food you can use for inspiration! While snacking on fruit, place a bunch of bananas, strawberries, apples, and pears in front of you and use them as your adult coloring book inspiration! You never know what they might inspire!
Nuts
Stuck in a creative rut? Don’t drive yourself nuts…eat them instead! Nuts may help increase your memory and can also give your brain an added boost. Some students even say that eating nuts while studying helps them remember more information. Munch on mixed nuts while working on long stretches of coloring book quiet time. It will keep you going!

Berries
Many berries, such as blueberries, are rich in antioxidants and help your brain stay focused and alert. The added benefits of berries can help you accomplish your tasks easier and with more precision. Plus, like fruit, they can be an extra coloring book color palette inspiration! Berries are a must for artists everywhere as a great nutritional, creative snack.
Tea
As we’ve seen from our previous color shares, many of our Coloring Faith fans enjoy drinking tea while coloring. And why not? Green tea is still considered to be one of the healthiest things for your brain and body. The added caffeine helps to sharpen your senses. The amino acids in tea help eliminate that creative “hole” you may fall into every once in a while. Next time you take out your adult coloring book, add some tea to your setup and let us know how it works!
